Your First Visit

Many patients who have never been to a chiropractor before are uneasy about their first visit. Some of them have seen dramatic chiropractic adjustments online and are worried about what kind of treatment they will receive.

At Chiropractor Plus in Nixa, we want to ease your anxiety. Our goal is to treat each patient with kindness and help them have a great experience. Most new patients are amazed at how much better they feel after their first visit!

When you come into our office you will be greeted with a smile and given new patient paperwork to fill out. This information helps Dr. Greenwood learn about you and your medical history. All of this paperwork can be completed in our office, but some patients prefer to access it online and complete it before coming in.

Dr. Greenwood will take you back to a private treatment room. He will review your paperwork and ask questions. He will listen to you and answer any questions you may have.

Dr. Greenwood will then perform an orthopedic and neurological examination to determine the underlying cause of your problems and pain. If he feels x-rays are necessary before you receive care they can be taken in our office.

Next, Dr. Greenwood will explain his findings to you and recommend the best type of treatment for your condition. Unlike many other chiropractors, Dr. Greenwood does not make you wait until the second visit to receive care. You will start getting relief on your first visit!

The treatment you receive in our office will be different from other chiropractors because Dr. Greenwood is also a naturopathic physician and uses a variety of techniques, including some he has developed himself in his over 39 years of helping patients with chronic and difficult conditions.

In rare instances, Dr. Greenwood finds a medical condition that is best treated by another type of physician or that needs to be urgently addressed before he can administer care. In these instances, he will refer patients out to be seen by the appropriate doctor.

We utilize the state-of-the-art equipment to give you the best experience. This includes the Thompson drop table (which makes manual adjustments more comfortable), the Cox flexion-distraction table, which utilizes specific stretching and pressure points, or the Pulstar Computerized instrument, which manipulates spinal vertebra without manual thrusts. Dr. Greenwood may also include trigger point therapy, range of motion therapy, or naturopathic stretching techniques. All of these are included as part of your care at no extra cost, unlike many other chiropractic offices which charge extra for these modalities.

For those difficult or long-term conditions that need additional therapies to resolve, we offer spinal decompression, interferential electrical stimulation, acupuncture, and doctor-assisted exercise.

We do not have “Cookie Cutter” plans for our patients, or long-term contracts, because we know that every patient is unique, and we tailor each patient’s care plan to their needs and desires. We keep our prices low so that you can afford to receive the care you need. Our goal is to relieve your pain, resolve your problems, and stabilize your condition as quickly as your body will allow.

After your treatment, Dr. Greenwood will give you instructions for your home care and may recommend herbal or nutritional supplements or other items that may help speed your recovery.
