For manual (hands on) chiropractic adjusting and NMT, Dr. Hunter Greenwood utilizes the Thompson Drop Table, which runs on air pressure and allows greater comfort for the patient when adjusting to improve nerve flow or working on structural imbalances to improve blood flow.
The patient begins by standing at the table, which will lower them slowly into a horizontal position. Dr. Greenwood may have them face forwards, backwards, or sideways, depending on the type of manipulation he is going to perform.
When the patient is lying face down, Dr. Greenwood can set the appropriate drop pieces on the table to the patient's weight and set it to drop slightly as he thrusts on the spine. This dropping enhances the motion of the segment of the spine as it is manipulated, generally the mid-back, low back or pelvic area, allowing movement with less force, which is easier on the patient.

Dr. Greenwood will also adjust the thoracic spine while the patient is lying on their back, as this makes the adjustment more comfortable for some patients.
